Queen Documentary

Uncle Wheaty's picture

BBC2 are screening two 1 hour documentaries on Queen over the forthcoming weekend - 29th/30th May at 10pm. The second one will be followed by the excellent live concert from Hammersmith Odeon in 1975.

Apparently it includes video of their first ever TV appearance which was believed to have been wiped.

I know they get a mixed reaction here but if you like them then fill your boots!

I remember watching that 75 Xmas Eve show

They were, in my opinion, at their absolute peak then. Before they lost the rocky edge.

Wasn't this the show Mark Hagen was talking about on the podcast a year or so back as having been lost for years?

Thoroughly enjoyed the first part last night...

… though it re-iterated to me that if you have 1981's Greatest Hits (which was the fist LP I ever bought with my own money) then you surely have all the Queen you need.

Nah - its got to be A night

Nah - its got to be A night at the Opera - after a Day at the Races - they started to get all 'poppy' and too popular in my opinion.

I enjoyed part 1 last night and the 'lost' material. The Queen exhibition in Brick Lane was also worth a visit.
