Pop Britannia

Caught the second part of this last night, and found it very enjoyable. Nice to see a few different talking heads on this type of programme, plus some footage I hadn't seen before. Only major gripe would be the choice of Ann-Marie Duff as narrator. Just wrong in every way.

I've deleted a comment I made here about Pete Townshend.
Apologies if it came out badly.

David is correct - there wasn't a charge or a trial.
Nor was there the publication of the book that he was researching.

Hmmm...

Can't for the life of me see why one man confessing he finds another man attractive would have any bearing one way or the other on a child pornography trial.

To be fair..

...I don't think there was any trial or any charge.

BBC4

This is another in a long line of terrific programmes on BBC4. The Jazz and Folk Brittanias were superb, and so far I think the pop one is up to the same standard.

Nearly all the Storyville documentaries are excellent too, even if the subject matter wouldn't immediately strike you as very promising, such as the recent history of British motorways (!).

You wouldn't believe BBC4 was the work of the same company as BBC3, which is absolutely appalling.

BBC3

Yes, BBC3 is really quite rubbish, except for Family Guy which is BRILL!
