Podcast query

theglasscyclist's picture

So we had the big announcement about how we as subscribers would be able to access the podcast. Much debate ensued about the merits of this new proposal, those living in far flung places decried the postal services and asked if they could pay to get the podcast without having to subscribe to the magazine. Others didn't wish to subscribe as they believed in supporting local newsagents and many felt it was a money making scam by Development Hell.

My query is since the announcement where are the weekly podcasts? There hasn't been one since 7th October and I got my number and input it into itunes and all worked swimmingly except no new podcasts since the big announcement and the ensuing debate. I hope the team haven't gone off in a big sulk after the massive made comment about the new podcast rules.

Please help I do need my regular dose of Hepworth, Lewry and Ellen to recharge the batteries!!!!!

I'm still waiting for a response

on how to get it without iTunes!

And yes, come along now, we're paying for this aren't we... :)

Furthermore

suddenly, this morning, iTunes doesn't seem to like my "personalised" podcast URL. Now it's saying "There was a problem downloading 'Word Podcast'. An internal server error occurred". So is the lack of post-7-Oct podcasts because you've not recorded any more, or because of server trouble?

The irony that this hiatus has only occurred since the podcast became, in effect, a paywalled service, is quite rich, really.

I think I recall

Fraser saying at one point that they wanted to make sure that all the problems and concerns over the paid podcasts were ironed out before they posted a new one.

Chill baby, the cats is working it out, get hep to the slow groove.

I'm sorry I'm v bored at work*

*although if you're reading this boss, I'm doing 15 other things including this at once

Your boss calls you DogFacedBoy?

You should have a word with HR.

Yes, Fraser said that to my query

The new URL has allowed me to download old podcasts to the new section on my Blackberry so hopefully, when normal service resumes, it will all be tickety boo.

I did the link thingy...

...and I seem to have lost all my 'back issues' of the podcast. I suppose I will just have to re-download them. Still no news about the iPad/iPhone app either - I paid for that too!!

The App

Continues are per usual. No change for people who've purchased it, although it's now been taken off sale.

They've run off to the Bahamas...

with all the ill-gotten profits from the old "Let's ask for money for a podcast scam" - oldest trick in the book. You'll all be ordering viagra and sending money to deposed royalty in Africa next...!

Damn

Only just seen this thread after posting the sme question in the other new podcast thread. Sorry for duplication. On balance however I reckon the midnight flit to the Bhamas explanation is probably the correct one!
