Pipe and slippers? No thanks, I'm still alive and kicking.
So, the Word collective's glorious leader has rolled over and given up, has he, preferring his carpet slippers and mug of tea while enjoying the view over his rolling acres, safe in the knowledge that soft loo paper is only a short Stannah ride away?
Shame, poor old thing.
Some of us are made of sterner stuff. We are rewarded, occasionally, with fabulous weather and glorious sights.
Anyone else returned from the front line yet with some piccies to share?

Elysian fields.

Smaugasbord of delight.

Move aside please, raptor coming through.

British workmanship. Fair makes you proud.

Flagging in the afternoon.

Open air string quartet madness.

Cops with fairy wings.

Amy's car crash.

Jay-Z explodes. Wonderwall never sounded better.

Tipi for two.

It was all Green fields 'round here.

Me too...

Went with my (18 y/o) son and a gang of his mates, which gave me a very interesting (and different) perspective on what Glastonbury is all about. Thing is, it worked for all of us, in different ways. I would never be seen dead in the Dance Village, they loved it. They had no interest at all in Candi Staton, I thought she was fantastic.
Highlights (in no particular order):
Candi Staton, Buddy Guy and Solomon Burke on the JazzWorld stage. Timeless, ageless quality. And that Candi is still pretty foxy!
Edwyn Collins with Roddy Frame - Edwyn is still very fragile but good to see him back on stage. Roddy Frame might just be the most underrated guitarist of his generation.
'Secret' gigs by Franz Ferdinand and The Last Shadow Puppets
The Raconteurs - fantastic live band.
Seasick Steve serenading a girl from the crowd and (later) playing the Diddley Bow
Down the front for Amsterdam and chatting to Ian Prowse later.
Buying a Ukulele.
Goan fish curry and welsh oggies (not at the same time)
John Cale deconstructing Heartbreak Hotel
The weather. Yes, we had some rain and a spot of mud, but for the most part it was glorious.
Getting out of the car park this morning in about 15 minutes flat.
The (mostly clean) toilets.
I read the Digital Glastonbury thread and have to say the coverage, once again, scratched the surface. I doubt that much of my highlights got any screen time?
I do need to see the Candi Staton coverage though. I have a horrible feeling I'm caught singing 'Young Hearts Run Free' in a slightly battered straw hat...
Don't worry.
A friend called to say she'd spotted me on telly watching Neil Diamond.
I didn't see his set.
