Pete Molinari

Just back from a rather packed and sweaty Dingwalls in north London where Pete Molinari played tonight. I've heard him a few times on Radio 2 but never actually seen him live until now. I hear that Richard Hawley is a big fan and after seeing this relatively young kid tonight I can see why. Classic country blues all delivered in a very Hawley-friendly manner by a gorgeous looking, hip-swaying young guy (apologies, have had several wines) who tonight could do very little wrong. Has Word covered him?
See what you make of him yourselves.

I liked it and was immediately reminded of this.....

The Mamas & The Papas- Creeque Alley

Well he's no great innovator, that's for sure...

but he does make a very listenable noise. Good stuff.

Here's another good Pete Molinari song - "One Stolen Moment":

Pete Molinari

I've posted about this guy before and was also at he Dingwalls show last night. There was lots of talk at the bar (but not too much during his set, thankfully)about how he's a natural for Later and why is Team Jools wasting time with some very average roots/country types.
Personally I think he's country music's answer to Richard Hawley. Still can't believe he comes from Kent though!

Brilliant

I'm slightly obsessed with Pete after seeing him at the Greenman Festival as is my girlfriend for different reasons I think. He always wears really great shoes.

So your reason

is that you're a shoe fetishist? Why does your girlfriend like him?

One Stolen Moment

was a Ratcliffe & Maconie record of the week in August. And quite right too. He’s a great singer and looks like a young Kevin Rowland. But in a good way.
My tips for the top next year are Pete and Sam Beeton, who looks like Donny Osmond in 1973 and sounds like Crowded House. Check out his video What You Look For on youtube (I’d link it but it’s “embedding disabled”). Poptastic.

Sorry..

..he sounds like Sonny Bono.
