Joe Muggs's picture

Is this beautiful or what?

from http://www.penguinsciencefiction.org/

I've been wondering how feasible it is to get it printed as actual wallpaper...

Weirdly

That company is run by a friend of mine.

Seriously

While those covers might be beautiful individually, that would make for terrible wallpaper. Unless, of course, you have a special room whose sole purpose is to induce nausea.

Well

given my hoarding tendencies, compared to the rest of my office that is positively orderly.

Busy

Yep, it is a bit 'busy'!
Nothing gives me greater pleasure than coming across an old Penguin in a charity shop but, unlike DVDs, Videos and CDs, I find them increasingly difficult to find.

Sigh...

...I'm still trying to update my "Penguin Orange" fixation, every time I go near a second hand bookshop. Perhaps they are all on ebay. The great thing is they fit in your pocket. Why have paperbacks got so big?

What strikes me

is how Penguin have lost their distinctive style.
Admittedly back in the 70's when I bought a fair few of those titles there was nowhere near as many publishers, but these days when you walk into a bookshop I'd find it hard to spot a Penguin.
I can't say I fancy it as wallpaper. It would make decent wrapping paper though.
