Paul Weller - the debt to 80's Bowie

What is it with Paul Weller's hair?
And is this the picture he takes to the hairdresser?

I'm sure the inspiration is here...
Suzi Quatro surely?
Good song though!
Wellers hair..
I find it insufferable and always have, one of the reasons I have always found it hard to take him as seriously as he probably believes is his due.(Not his due of me personally, but of the populace in general!) It's those long bloody bits in front of his ears, curling forward in the Jam days and just plain daft now. The sideburn equivalent of a combover, I feel.
But as I type Weller and hair, I am reminded that Weller is also a hair care company, indeed sponsoring, if I recall correct, some young folks NME tour? Is Paul a scion of the Weller hair care bunch? The nation demands an answer!
because he's worth it
I think the basic formula goes like this additives such as Dr Paulthomsom's suggestion can be added from time to time..
Excellent!
Top of the class, sir. Effort beyond the call of duty etc etc.
Get Yer Hair Cut
Brilliant Mr G
He has got that "young hair/old man" look. Time to age gracefully Paul. The time comes for all of us in the end, same with tight jeans, denim jackets etc etc. Your body tells you when it's time.
Unfortunately Paul's is yelling "Time Gentlemen Please" but he's too busy preening in the mirror. One of his friends needs to "have a word". Get a nice crop and a decent suit.
Weller Hair Tragedy
He's beginning to look like an old man still trying to dress young. Terrible hair. Would love to give his hair a good cropping. Will probably buy his new album, interested to see his long term drummer Paul White, no longer playing live with him.
Steve White
I think I read somewhere he was just taking some time off. Most of the new album features Steve Cradock (Weller's / OCS's guitarist) on drums, as well as on other instruments. He is using a different bass player at the moment too, don't know what happened with Damon Minchella.
White, Minchella & keyboard player Saemus Behan
Decided to strike out on their own as Trio Valore when Weller was still looking at more time out. They may play together again in the future I've read somewhere.
I saw Weller the other night with Andy Lewis on bass, Cradock guitar, Andy Crofts on keyboard and a new drummer whose name I can't remember. The drummer is not as technical as White, but compliments a fantastic band with backing vocals on most songs as well as acoustic guitar & lead vox on a verse or two on a couple of stripped down numbers -very Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, all five members of the band doing harmonies.
22 Dreams is his best solo record by a country mile. Only wish they'd play more of that and less of the crowd pleasing stuff with the usual tacked on 5 minute guitar jams.
Shocking haircut. Needs a number 8 all over.
Micky Webb
I thought it was Micky Webb out of "The Bill" on lead guitar.
You're probably not really interested
but he used to live next door to us.
Pas de tout
Was he playing with Weller then? Was he still a DS or was this after the business with his dodgy wife and his return to Sun Hill?
1st time around
It was in his first stint there. He shared for a while with one of the other actors. This area used to be a haven for The Bill with at least 2 others seen hereabouts regularly.
Is this a picture of Berlin-era Bowie?
Or Paul Weller in 2008?

Weller
He's beginning to look a lot like that guy out of Shameless.
I love
the Fall.

Maybe it is like Spotify?
Maybe some of us have caught sponsorship deals for their blogging. I confess to have had yet no offers, but if Matthew Gloag and company are reading this, I'm open to offer...........
