Since 2001, Macca's been on his version of the never-ending tour: Faultless band, enormogigs and being the dictionary definition of "crowd-pleasing". The chance to see Him in such an intimate venue was a great Christmas present. He sounded in better voice than I recall in recent years - he was actually hitting the high notes. The joy of the gig was offset by the lack of surprise:Blackbird, Something and Here Today were performed with the same patter from when I last saw Macca in 2003. Obviously I'd go see The Beatle again in a heartbeat. NB: 20 out of 31 songs were Beatlesongs, & 14 of those were album tracks (you know, duff album tracks like A Day In The Life) Amusingly he said those heart-sink words "Here's a new song" right before he ripped into All My Loving.
