Patrick Swayze RIP

lisbon's picture

Sad to hear about Patrick Swayze, 'Point Break' sheer, daft, thrilling genius, could watch it anytime. (Would've put it in 'Movies you just like' except that it - and 'Dirty Dancing' - really good at what they're doing, so for me not inexplicable pleasures at all.)

Roadhouse

Don't forget the ass-kicking, philosophy-reading doorman in "Roadhouse" - class.

Kermode tribute, etc

After all the Mayo move cobblers, the Kermode tribute. Available on the Daily Mayo podcast.

Not seen DD to this day, mainly because a girl at work banged on about it endlessly for months so I had the Hype Hives. I scandalised an ex (and indeed an entire cinema audience) by laughing uproariously in Ghost when ever the wee devils turned up, but that wasn't anything to do with Patrick Swayze.

No, Point Break and Donnie Darko. Unexpectedly sad today.

Just brilliant in Donnie Darko...

I went to school with a lad who bore an uncanny resemblance to PS - yes he did have much success with the ladies.
