Muddy Waters in Majorca don't taste like what it oughta

Looks interesting, but Mick Jagger's accent is worse than... well, worse than the real Mick Jagger's accent. (Or is it Keith??)

I think...

I'll stick with the records.

Christ on a stick...

..that looks awful.

It does look unusual, but...

...I'm quite curious. Beyonce Knowles as Etta James? Could be worse.

In terms of casting...

how could it be much worse?! I don't want to expand on this too much, but I wouldn't say that Beyonce Knowles and the young Etta James look very much alike, do you?

Patrick Crowther | 7 December 2008 - 10:06am

No, they don't

But if I had to stare for two hours at someone pretending to be Etta James and having a stab at, say, I'd Rather Go Blind, I can think of worse people.

Like I said

Could be worse.

I think it's great casting

Beyonce is pretty much the only person I can think of who could fill Etta's shoes. OK they don't look much alike but hey, you can't have everything.

Chess?

Looks more like Ludo.

Who's playing Howlin' Wolf then..

..Michael Jackson?

0
shane pacey | 7 December 2008 - 11:48am

I heard

it was Lenny Henry.

0
eddie g | 8 December 2008 - 10:39am

I may be on my own here

But this looks great. Adrian Brody, Beyonce, a whole tonne of great records, some neat looking cars, what's not to like?

Niks | 7 December 2008 - 6:29pm

The acting...

..the corny dialogue ("We named ourselves ahter you, Mr Waters...The Rolling Stones")
The replacement with pretty boys and girls for the quite normal looking staff and stars of Chess.
"Ray" got lots of plaudits, and I found THAT mildy dull linear experience.
I'll probably watch it on DVD, only because I love the music.
