Mexican paramedics drop organ in front of photographers after it was rushed to hospital by police helicopter for transplant

We can laugh at this, as there was no harm done in the end. Must have been a horrific moment for the two guys carrying the box, though!

A real heart in the mouth moment

Don't laugh

I'm scheduled to have a kidney transplant next week. I need to think that all my helpers are supremely efficient and experienced and wizards at their job.

Good luck

When you say next week - does that mean you have a live donor? In which case, well done to them.

I had this awful mental image

of the patient standing there, waving his fist and shouting,

"Why aorta...!"

(Sorry to make light of it Benny - best wishes for yours next week...)

Thanks for the good wishes guys

much appreciated.

Yes, I've got a live donor, my god-daughter, the youngest sister of my first girlfriend from over 30 years ago. I showed some small kindnesses to her as a young girl and she's repaying me with overwhelming generosity now. She's not a direct match with me so I won't receive her kidney. Instead were doing it under the, so called, 'paired scheme' so there is another couple in the same situation in another part of the country and, effectively, were doing a swap. My donor's kidney will be taken out in Manchester next Thursday and flown to London and my new kidney will do the reverse journey. All remarkable stuff. Thanks again. All the best.
