One chord stomp

Eddy Grant has just announced a UK tour in the summer and the news had me humming Electric Avenue in my head. It is surely the greatest one chord song ever recorded.

Here's some other front runners - Exodus by Bob Marley, On the Road again by Canned Heat and Chain of Fools by Aretha.

What else should I include in my one chord stomp top ten?

Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles has only one chord, i think

and i'm pretty sure that the sheet music of 'Within you Without You' only has one as well.

The main part of Road to Nowhere has only one chord, and the bit at the start was allegedly only put in so that, er, folks on blogs like this wouldn't say that it only *had* one chord...

A pedant writes.....

Ermmmm, there's at least one other implied chord in "Tomorrow Never Knows", the bit that goes "... of the beginning, of the beginning", there's a chord change (but no change to the bass note) on the first "of the beginning".

On Road to Nowhere, there are at least 4 chords that I can hear, not including the bit at the start ;-)

A real one chord tune; Pink "Get the Party Started" just riffs on B for the whole song.

Dylan

"Ballad of Hollis Brown" and maybe George Thorogood's 'Bad To The Bone"?

Uncomplicated

By Elvis and the Attractions.

Although again there's probably a second chord lurking around the bridge.

B B B B

Baaad to tha Bone.

To bring the tone down...

...Daydreamer by Menswear was only one chord. Didn't make it any better but it is a fact. That chord in full...D.

Another Roy Harper post

The last couple of times I saw Roy he insisted on performing a song written on one chord. And much as I like Roy, I'd have preferred it if he hadn't bothered.
