For a Christmas party for a hard working bunch of people, most of whom don't get the recognition of the marquee names. It says 'we're all mucking in/working towards the same end, and we all make this thing a success. And we can laugh at ourselves despite the tantrums and media bobbins that goes on.'
The problem is when it gets 'leaked' out. Bet the Whovians love it nonetheless.

If you'd sat through non-musical versions of this sort of self-indulgent aren't-we-marvellous claptrap at numerous Doctor Who launches and events I've attended over the years, you'd be a curmudgeon too!
Believe you me, it was excruciating to hear the relentless back-slapping that used to go on at these things.

...and I agree. But then I'm also a nerd. And I like the Proclaimers. It was that one that made me happy - the first one was a bit much, but mostly because it's got sodding Barrowman in it.
The bit with DT and the ACTUAL PROCLAIMERS made me emit a little squeak of joy.
