Oh Kate!

Steven C's picture

In The Times today - 10 Beatles' covers that work.

Miss Mossman identifies U2's take on 'Helter Skelter'as what the Beatles would have sounded like if they had gone on to become a stadium band ... as if this were a good thing.

That's just plain wrong, surely! Anyone?

"We're stealing it back"

Was interested to hear George Martin

suggesting in his BBC 6 feature that the 2nd side of Abbey Road "patchwork" indicated the way they'd have gone ... cheeky melodic suites anyone ;-)

However wrong she may be about U2....

surely she can't be as wrongísimamente McWrongo about the post-breakup Fabs as Bono's honorary homey, the Mighty McCormick.

"It's great because it's raw/slick. No, wait, it's rubbish because it's raw/slick. No, wait...."

Priceless!

"...They took a lot of love with them as they set off on their solo journeys, and it’s a love that still resonates today".

Clunk, clunk every trip. Does he get paid for this? Could we get paid for this?

Great link - have a vote! Or at least an imaginary vote as I appear to have become disenfranchised ... :-(
