Now on BBC iPlayer: Six hours about David Bowie

Ola Claesson's picture

You´re not missing this documentary, are you? It features lots of interviews, with both the usual and unusual suspects, and a decent tune or two.

Thanks for the link

Much appreciated, though I'm surprised that you can get it, and that they are still putting gems like this on iPlayer as I thought the iPlayer for radio was being scrapped.

I too am suprised than I can get it

I think I listen more to BBC than SR (Swedish radio) these days. Jarvis, Desert Island Disc, Front Row and a lot of the documentaries, like the current one about Bowie, that show up are my favourites.

Any other recommendations in the line of the ones mentioned above are highly appreciated.

I´m waiting for the day when I can watch the tv BBC too.

Alternatively...

Try my-private-network.co.uk which gives a UK proxy which gives you a UK proxy and can be used for full access to BBC iPlayer, Spotify etc etc. It costs £5 a month but is very reliable.

Thanks for that

I also discovered this program (I think it's Windows only) that lets you download iPlayer audio streams: http://www.nerdoftheherd.com/tools/radiodld/

Its a decent Bowie series from 1993......

.....my own slightly grumpy frustration is that BBC6 now seem to be repeating the same old documentaries every few months. I guess we were spoilt end of last year, Bowie story, Atlantic Records story and In My Life - The Lennon series, but now they're repeating them again.

A shame they're not delving a little deeper into the archives.

But hey, its good they broadcast the old shows in this 3am timeslot. Hopefully after this current Lennon repeat they'll dig out some other interesting stuff.
