No Wonder

Mr Drayton's picture

Back in the day when I was nowt but a lad, our social discord was voiced by The Pistols, The Clash, The Ruts, The Specials and Sir Billy Bragg. Nowadays what have the kids got? Adele, Cher Lloyd and N'Dubz. No wonder they're pissed off.

I suspect....

... quite a few of those grime chaps, whose work I am unfamiliar with but who are often popular with the miscreant youth of today, may well be rapping on the subject forthwith.

Absolutely

There were riots in Barnsley in the early 80's however even though we has a cockney singing "Oi was a moinerrrr...."

Perhaps it was the fault of Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Visage.

two thoughts...

1. a cockney yokel...?
2. *everything* in the 80s was Duran Duran's fault...

I don't think they're pissed off

Look at their faces. They are not unhappy. They are loving this. This isn't a protest. This is mob criminality. It is opportunism. They're not against anything. They are in favour of getting stuff for free and the adrenaline rush brought on by destroying lives.

I agree with you Jan Boy

I have nothing to back up my opinion other than my own feelings, which in turn are formed by what I have seen.

I think the majority of this is copy cat one upmanship, being done for the thrill, buzz whatever.

The opportunity for a bit of Rob is a big bonus.

Nah, nah...

It is cos we is, like, disrespectin' them, yeah?
If we, like, gave the youth some respect, an that... They'd all respect us back.

At least that's what the teenage motormouth on the six o'clock news said. She seemed to know what she was talking about. Give them the vote - they've earned it.

*aims water cannon*

'Respect this motherfucker!' Enough 'please help us try and understand...' already. Time to help decent people get on with their working lives which are hard enough at the moment as it is.
