No More, No More, No More...

Paolo Meccano's picture

Surprised no-one's mentioned that Andrea True has died (still, based on recent issues, maybe she'll get a double-page obit in the mag).

She did this: -

Why are you surprised?

I for one have never heard of her.

Really?!

I thought it was one of those massive global one-hit-wonders that EVERYONE had heard of.

Great song

and the comment below about porn to disco is correct. She was in Deep Throat II. I saw it. But having never seen Deep Throat I, it was a bit difficult to follow.

Anyone conversant with that era (of song) should know this one.

a bit difficult to follow

...or a bit difficult to swallow?

I got a million of 'em....

BTW part of her wonderful one hit was sampled by Canadian outfit Len for their one hit "Steal My Sunshine"

I remember her

IIRC that song was a hit in the mid 1970's. I suspect one has to be a person of a certain age to recall the late Ms. True. And, FWIW, I am.

It was a hit in 1976 (I think)...

...and has been featured in the current TotP repeats. It's way before my time, but I'm still familiar with it.

Wasn't she

a porn star before making the record, or am I confusing her with someone else?

Could go a long way to explaining the song title.....

She was indeed

a porn star before she became a one-hit wonder.

Had that tune on my

50th Birthday party playlist this summer.

Remember dancing self-consciously to it at the disco during a Geography week at Colomendy* in the Autumn of 1976.

Dear dead days.

*This will only make sense to Liverpudlians of a certain vintage.
