Its alright
Jools 'doesn't have the internet' so we can poke fun at him and his programme as much as we like.
2 copies
I got two copies of the Springsteen issue through the post today.
I assume it's an error with the mailing house.
Anyone else?
Spoiler alert?!
Or did you mean you got 2 copies of the summer issue with Springsteen in his car with Lily Allen?
2 copies of December 2010
2 copies of December 2010 issue
SPIOLERS MAN!
(I believe is the term :-))
Not even eyebrows?
Is it Dame Sir David Bowie?
I stand corrected
I should have said: "No apparent evidence of facial hair beyond that which may be present in eye brows, eyelids, hair within the nasal cavity, ears, sideburns and forward brushed tonsorial styles."
I am grateful to m'learned pedant.
Bloody hell, not another review from that mutt face man
Down with this sort of thing
Huzzah! and I say again Huzzah!
My copy has arrived at the same time as the other early recipients, rather than the 7 to 10 days later that has been the case in recent months
Mine too...
...mine seems to have been a week or two late (or non-appearing at all) recently and arrived today* In fact, my post which has been horrendous over the last couple of years appears to be improving generally.
Well done, posties of North London.
*albeit with bloody Springsteen.
That's interesting
As another north London resident, I wonder what have they been doing with our copies in previous months?
I haven't received the Zappa cover issue...
... yet.
It arrived...
... just now. Phew!
Christ On A Bike
Never mind the front; the back cover is scary!
I'm sure they could have found a picture where he has a beard
but I guess it'd be from the wrong era.
EDIT: It's just struck me; it's a photo cover this month! Only took me three hours to notice.
But...
...why is no-one asking why Bruce has a pic of the young Kenny Dalglish on his wall...?
Here we go
Beardy Boss in 1973
Blimey
A feature review on Nappy 3! Nice one, have got that album on pre-order.
May I congratulate this month's illustrator...
he or she has developed photorealism to undreamt of heights. Well done.
So is he plugging this?

Sounds good to me, eagerly awaiting my overseas issue
Bring back
the cartoons - what a dull cover...
More important, do I detect from the last para of Andrew Collins' column that he's hanging up his pen? Say it isnt so.
The same thought occurred to me this morning
whilst cogitatively engaged in the smallest room. The squirrels obviously have well connected friends in hire (and fire) places; revenge is theirs to be savoured over the winter months, chuckling and chuntering to each other as they stash their hazel nuts.
Cogitatively engaged
Isn't that one of the unreleased outtakes from the Robert Fripp & The League of Gentlemen sessions?
I couldn't care less
who's on the cover, but Springsteen. Jeez.
Excellent Andrew Harrison Scientist review inside though. Well done, sir.
Wob wob wob, indeed.
is it Edwyn Collins? about time!
I won't get to see the new issue for a couple of months, but if the cover shows no facial hair, I can only assume that Word has finally decided to put someone on the cover that people under 45 might see as someone for "our generation". Or a woman.
I bet it's Edwyn Collins - finally, a proper article on one of the most inspirational - TRULY inspirational - people in music today, and with the release of Coals to Newcastle, its about time, too! I can't wait to read the review, and the interview.
My girlfriend thinks Word is basically a hip version of The Oldie. I am starting to think she's right. We don't know if The Oldie still exists though - Word might have knocked it out of the market. I am looking at the cover of the last issue to arrive in Australia, with Richard Thompson. Know what I mean?
Oh who am I kidding? I know it won't be Edwyn Collins, and I know that the release of Coals to Newcastle will barely warrant a postage stamp sized review, probably buried under a 10,000 word John Hiatt retrospective. Word is the only music magazine I buy these days, but I don't buy it for its music coverage. It is a great magazine - it makes me laugh - but let's face it, musically it's full of pensioners. If Andrew Collins is leaving, as someone has hinted, I wouldn't be surprised. Get out while you're still a young(-ish) man, lad!
Doesn't...
...Edwyn Collins count as pensioner music after a 30 year career? ;-)
Certainly compared to what has been reviewed this month which, from memory, is distinctly unfogeyish.
He certainly...
... desrves to be on the cover. To produce an album like that after all he's been through? The man's a genius.
upwards and onwards
yer damn right Johnny T! I saw the BBC documentary on him, Home Again, and I defy anyone to watch it without feeling a little moist around the eyes when he sings Home Again...brave and strong.
A hip version of The Oldie?
Sounds like my perfect magazine!
I hear you...
bruv.
