Stones Live '78 cd/dvd on the way.
Now that is something to look forward to!
Woof!
Looks good...
but when are they going to release 25x5?
No Chance
I'd say if we're good, we might get 50 X 5
Who wants that?!
At least with 25x5 we only had to sit through 9 years of average material.
Do I really want to watch 25 years' worth of footage of Jagger's face metamorphosing into a tortoise?
I'm getting a few bits and pieces transferred to DVD
Wedding Video (I know you are a fan!), and funnily enough my VHS of 25x5! If you'd like me to get a copy let ne know! Same to you Pat!
erm...
"Do I really want to watch 25 years' worth of footage of Jagger's face metamorphosing into a tortoise?"
Isn't that part of the deal with 25x5 as well? :)
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. When 25x5 came out, it was the *start* of the Rollng Stones As Heritage Act stage of their career and at THAT point, Mick Jagger was five years younger than Bono is now.
No you bloody cynic
It's a great Rock n'Roll Bio! And some of it is very funny! The music is not too bad either! Do you want a copy! I'll bring it with me on the 1st!
oh i'm not being *that* cynical...
I saw it YONKS ago...wasn't it a BBC Arena production, or something? Charlie (as per) steals the show in it, IIRC...
There was an edited version for TV
But nothing beats the 2.5 hr long form version! And Mr Watts does steal the show as does the News Commentary when Jagger/Richards spent their time in a police cell.
Springer
I would love a copy and thanks
I'll have it for you on the 1st
No problem!
I have that now
Get in touch and I'll bang you off a copy if you want it Patrick!
This is dead good
The good Stones doing Exile, Sticky Fingers etc.

and the good news is
that both releases - this one and the one that Pat's mentioned - are being done by the same company. Now obviously the material will be different, and if you want Taylor-era Stones, L&G is all you need.
However, having, er, access to the Handsome Girls bootleg, which is I think roughly the source material for this new release, I can say that the quality of playing is genuinely very good.
People still play 78's?
I'm here for the rest of the week. Thank the lord it's Friday, though, eh?
