Nice fat electro funk groove, good to hear Bobby Womack. Not sure it sounds like a big pop hit but like it.

That Albarn Fella

is a bit special, isn't he?

The bassline...

...is very West End Girls.

lovely synth

The bass synth line is great. It took me a few listens before I got into it as an entire piece, though; bit hotch-potch. Looking forward to some new Jamie Hewlett animation.

80s/90s?

I've just listened to Stylo again, and am I the only one that gets beamed back to that tipping point between the 80s and 90s? The brief time when there was that beaming, uplifting vibe in the charts. I guess it was the Second Summer of Love poking through - early Soul II Soul, Neneh Cherry, Bomb the Bass, Massive Attack's first album, Seal's Crazy; the brief period before the polar opposites of trip-hop taking everything a bit too slow, or Jungle ramping it all up the other way. Either way everything went a bit menacing, as the drugs stopped working (or not, as the case may be).

Love 'em!

Saw them live on the last tour in Manchester - was feckin' brilliant night and can't wait to see if there's another tour for this album (hope so)!

Mr Albarn is a national cherub in my opinion, a true pioneer of the music/diversity/hard work ethic!

Oh and saw the Monkey Opera in Manchester too, just brilliant brilliant... is there no end to his enviable talent?
