Wonder...
...what David Simpson will make of it?
The best song..
.. on the last LP was the one MES didn't actually sing on: I've been duped. You could tell it was his song - only with someone else singing it.
I reckon that's the way forward - The Fall as a band curated by Mark E Smith
Always different, always the same
There is a cracking bootleg of the recent Berlin gig "out there on the internet". I'll not point at where it is because I'm sure that would be against the rules of how this place runs.
I'm not a devotee but I do like them. After blethering with a friend who is a huge Fall fan, I sat down and listened to the Peel Sessions box set from end to end - a great range, full of splenetic mithering and din.
I'm looking forward to this one.
I was provoked. It was not in accord with any known law.
I thought there were a few corkers on Imperial Wax Solvent - Is This New, Senior Twilight Stock Replacer, Can Can Summer, Alton Towers.
Anyway, great news - in the diary. Glad there's a continuity with much of the IWS band. It's almost 2 years since that album, so let's hope the rest has done him some good. Only mild concern is the combination of 'double album' and 9 tracks - could be interesting.
