Never Mind The Bollocks is 30 years old today.
Here's one fact for each track on the album.

1 - Knowing McLaren needed a singer for the band, Vivienne suggested 'John' from a gang of Johns who were regulars at the shop. Malcom recruited Lydon. She had actually meant John Beverly (Sid).
2 - Sid was invited to audition for The Damned, he failed to turn up and Dave Vanian got the gig.
3 - The White Les Paul used by Steve Jones as his main guitar
during the Pistols period

had previously belonged to Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls.
After ending his brief management of the Dolls, McLaren returned to London and gave the guitar to Jones.

4 - The original album title was 'God Save Sex Pistols'.

5 - There were two different track listings and four back cover variations within the first three months of the albums release.
6 - Pretty vacant is written round riffs from ABBA's SOS and the Small Faces Wham Bam, Thank You Mam .
7 - The heavily layered guitar sound on NMTB is known as 'guitar soup'.
8 - Nottingham Shop owner Christopher Seale was arrested for selling NMTB, the case went to trial on November 24 1977. John mortimer (Rumpole author) represented for the defence.
9 - NMTB was covered by the Bollock Brothers in 1983.
10 - And more recently by The Opium Jukebox as Never Mind The Bhangra.
11 - Satellite - a track originally planned for NMTB was rumored to be about Shanne Bradley a friend of Lydons who formed the Nipple Erectors with Shane Macgowan. Simone Stenfors a close friend of Shanne denies says denies this as nonsense.
12 - The Sex Pistols last UK gig with Sid was in 25th December 1977 at Ivanhoe's in Huddersfield.
