Clare Grogan joins us in the podcast to talk about what it's like to be inside a birthday cake on stage at Wembley Arena, the likelihood of Elvis Presley ever having visited London, the sad loss of Humphrey Lyttelton, what the stage hands thought of Tommy Steele and what to do if your daughter says "Daddy work, Mummy wine".

It's a pop shield but it's too close to the mic - needs to be about 3 inches away for someone of Mark's, errr, enthusiasm.....

Clare Grogan...

you don't need to see a photograph of her to know she's lovely. I shall never think of cakes the same way again.

Agreed

Presumably at some point the Helen Mirren Appreciation Society (Pres: David Hepworth) will be lobbying for their favourite Russian Dame to join the cast of the 'cast.

My father (also a Helen Mirren groupie) was actually at Humph's last gig at the Bull's Head in March (which was 50 years since he saw him at the Wimbledon College of Art).

Benny Hill

Dave mentioned the sad demise of Benny Hill, found alone in front of the telly in his Teddington flat. Good detail: he was actually watching Ceefax.

Loved hearing the wail of

Loved hearing the wail of services vehicle in the background early in the cast . This ,as well as the Ellen chuckle, has become an established part of the sound structure.
