Nashville calling

At the risk of turning the area into a travelogue I need help from the massive.
I'm off to USA in October with the GLW and I've negotiated 3 days in Nashville in return for the free use of my credit card at one of their shopping malls.
Can I have some recommendations where to see some live bands in that fine city. I want to get in as many as I can in the short time I have before the Visa melts down.

Tootsie's

Don't miss spending time in Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge, a band at either end and particularly fine barmaids, here I am with two new friends I met there

I second....

Pat! Was in Nashville for a month during the summer, and Tootsie's is well worth a visit! Also, make sure to get to The Great Escape which I think is on Broadway? The visa will be hammered! There was a great steakhouse across from that, always packed, but for some reason it was bought and closed!!

I went in March

And fortunately have this to remind me, as I can't remember any details unassisted:

But much of what I learned before going, I learned from MarkHagen. It's slowly coming back to me now...The Great Escape is wonderful - I came away with loads for not much money - and Noshville, just opposite, was great for lunch. They're both on Broadway, but a good mile from the touristy bit. Walkable though, and very near Music Row if you fancy wandering round there. Let me know if you can find where Dylan recorded Blonde On Blonde. Damned if I could.

Ernest Tubb's record store is also an absolute must, but you'll get waaay less for your money than in The Great Escape.
