My iPod is Haunted

Yesterday I was telling someone how I was tempted to buy a download of Joni Mitchell's River after so many Word readers recommended it.

Then I left the office, powered up my iPod, selected 'Shuffle', and the same song started playing. Ignoring for a moment the appalling fact that I didn't realise I owned a copy, how did my iPod know? I'm convinced the 'random' feature isn't really random (singles and classic tracks seem to appear more often than filler), but psychic?

Mine Too!

At least it really can feel that way. Not only does it regularly produce tracks which I have been humming/rehearsing in my head/thinking about, but it also produces linked tracks - same song/different artist or same artist/different - but related - track. This has been happening to me for some time; to paraphrase Mr Ellen as reported on a recent podcast, "DJ iPod does really well some days"!

That is weird

Just imagine if the psychic channels got confused and it started playing a Bruce Springsteen song instead.
