I LOVE The Muppets

Can heartily recommend Muppets: The Green Album released earlier this year. Contained Muppet essential songs covered by contemporary artists. Joys such as Mahna Mahna by The Fray. My favourite is this, Our World (originally by Emmet Otter) covered by My Morning Jacket:

Remind me Drakeygirl

When we meet again I will wear my Muppets Abbey Road t-shirt, as seen at the last NW Mingle.

Until then, have some Beetles music from Sesame Street

The first LP I ever owned

was the Muppet Show. I still have it in the loft but sadly nothing to play it on.

As far as I'm aware

those 2 Muppet Show albums aren't commercially available on CD \ itunes. Why the hell not? You could probably fit them both on a single disc. For shame!

Aww how gorgeous, Debbie ain't bad either....

Maybe it's a music clearance issue, dfb?

There are a lot of cover versions on those two albums that might have to be paid for again. They were a musical education to my eleven year old ears.

Yeah could be

*whistles as have found a vinyl rip online*

My favourite skit was 'Look Out, the comedian's a bear!' and 'Simon Smith & His Amazing Dancing Bear'. I'm sure now Disney own the Muppets they could get Randy newman on side

Why are all the Muppet guitarists

left handed?

Must be a Muppeteer thing....

0
eddie g | 18 October 2011 - 8:49pm

Left handed

Not sure you're being serious, but I *think* it's because the puppeteers are, mainly, right handed.

Being a leftie, with right-handed family, I really noticed this as a kid.

0
JoLean | 19 October 2011 - 10:15am

Perfectly serious. And yes, I noticed it

because I'm a leftie too. And I also assumed that it was because of the right-handed puppeteer thing. Was Animal a leftie? Perhaps some of the Massive's percussionists could enlighten us....

Is this the real life?
