Move over Joan Bakewell, Cerys is here.

Did anyone else catch Cerys' rather fine programme last night about Celtic poetry, national identity and the humanism inherent in what we think of as traditional verse?

Yes, very good
And it's also easy to forget what a fantastic singing voice she has.
Catatonia had some excellent singles, and were very good live. Can anyone recommend her solo work?
Open Roads
Open Roads, a single from one of her flop solo albums is lovely.
Her 2003 CD, Cockahoop
is very good. It's one of those alums that will turn up on the 'no one bought this, but it's brilliant, I've got a copy and the only way you can get it now is to remortgage, ha bloody ha!' page of your favourite music monthly sometime.
Flop as in ...
... didn't sell well, or flop as in rubbish?
Or flop as in both?
Flop as in didn’t sell well
At least I don’t think so. Never heard the album. I’m a singles guy. I imagine it’s probably got about three or four good tracks on it like most albums and that I’d never want to listen to it all the way through. It is on spotify though. So I might give it a try and then buy it. Spotibuy: the new way of sampling and buying music. When they start flogging mp3s they’ll clean up. Can’t see how else that outfit will ever turn any coin.
Had to turn it off
Not as good as Robert Webb's last week....
Your
loss.
She has two voices.
Annoying kid and screechy barmaid.
