Mostly Harmless?
I see over at BBC News that
Children's author Eoin Colfer has been commissioned to write a sixth instalment of the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy series
I'm not sure that this is a Good Thing and am having a somewhat Marvin like reaction.

It reminds me of Steve Martin doing Inspector Clouseau
Richard Herring has a routine in which he imagines Martin considering the Inspector Clouseau film; "You know, no one's really nailed that part yet..."
Eoin Colfer writing as Douglas Adams
If that's written on the cover then I probably won't buy it. If he tries to find his own take then maybe it could be interesting.
As far as I remember though the family gave their approval to the movie which seemed to completely misunderstand some of his main concepts. Even though his ideas were out there, they always had logic.
Don't get me started
on how bad the movie was...still seething!
However I do suspect that, no matter what the quality, I'm going to end up buying the book. I'm weak like that.
If it has to anyone
it may as well be Colfer. To be honest though, I don't think the books have aged at all well and it would probably be better to let them reamin as Adams' legacy without codas.
I listened to Eoin Colfer
talking about this on the radio this morning. He seems to know where he is going with this.
Although to be honest I don't buy books with new authors taking over the fantasy worlds of the deceased.
Dirk Gently
would be better suited to having another installment surely. As I recall, Mostly Harmless tied up every loose end with grim determination.
Hell, I'd probably buy it though. Curses.
My first thought .
My first thought is surely a Gently novel would be a better idea .
Surely
"Mostly Pointless"?
