But, but, but...

... that was literally "the only" thing I watched on that station. It was the only thing anyone I know watches on More4. Are they completely mental?

Unbelievable decision

As commenters on the Guardian website said, time to start looking for torrent downloads! Of all the programmes drop to fit in a Shameless remake (of all things!), it had to be this?

According to four it's OK though

Because they've bought Shameless US.

Because watching American actors redoing a show i've already seen in English is much better than watching something original and funny.

To be honest I always

To be honest I always download The Daily Show via various torrent sites. More4 censored the show, the cuts were quite severe in some cases; a few minutes some times in a 30min show. Now maybe they will blame what I do as bad for the viewing figures but they have themselves to blame. A smart, funny show disappears from British TV.

I would have thought

400,000 - 600,000 viewers for More 4 was pretty good.

Anyhow have a complain here. http://help.channel4.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=C4_Author,Company={2EA1BB9C-510E-44A5-A481-01EB1DDA1669},T=CONTACTCONFIRM

(It always seems to work for Daily Mail readers.)

I've watched episodes

via the shows website before now.

Episodes are blocked outside the U.S.

Hopefully that can be lifted now.

Isn't E4

built for Shameless style gubbins?

It was dropped in Norway this autumn as well

although we still get the global edition of Stewart and Colbert every Saturday.

Here's one of 2010's best clips. Enjoy!

As well as not dropping Stewart

they should be showing the genius that is Colbert ...

"if we can put a man in the moon, why can't we make the earth waist high" ...

"the government that governs best is that govt that governs least, and by these standards we have built a fabulous govt in iraq"

Hugely disappointing

I could have sworn the announcer at the end of last Thursday's show said something about it being back in January though?

I'm another one from a key demographic

who watches it regularly and nothing else on More 4. IN fact there are 2 or 3 nights a week when it's the only thing we watch on telly. Quite odd.

Breaking the news

Sad, this; as noted, they'd be better off buying up Colbert. Seems especially stupid with Sky Atlantic's exclusive five-year deal for HBO apparently set to corner the import market in quality US drama.

It piles even higher hopes on Channel 4's forthcoming Ten O'Clock Live - from the Charlie Brooker/David Mitchell/Jimmy Carr/Lauren Laverne team who lit up the last election night - although they may quickly find that it's incredibly hard to produce quality satire on a regular basis. Let's hope it's more successful than the doomed Marcus Brigstocke thing a couple of years back.

Anyway, the good news is that there is a way round Comedy Central's export blockade. It requires Firefox and three minutes of faffing but it's worth it for anyone who does want to watch the Daily Show, or Colbert, or anything hosted on Comedy Central. Enjoy...

(Ignore fact it says "Canadian", it should work anywhere and certainly does in the UK)
