Midlands massive meet?

Vincent's picture

A fellow Midlands massiver and I are wondering whether there is sufficient critical mass for a meet in a suitable hostelry or balti house in the region. If interested parties could say if interested and their feasible travellign zone, we can try and find a central spot. Let me know.

Interested.

Oim a Brummie and love beer and Balti. And Susanna Reid.

Good Idea - we need to show rest of country how to do it

I suggested the same thing a year or so ago but it kind of fell on deaf ears. I live in Lichfield so Birmingham/Black Country/Warks/Leices is absolutely no problem. Pretty sure El Toro would be interested (He lives in Dudley) and not making any assumptions but quite likely Last Rose of Summer (she lives in Birmingham). Go for it - Balti and/or drinks is a splendid idea.

Bloody hell mark0510

Susanna Reid

I concur, although she did look like she'd forgotten to take her rucksack off.

It was me that Vincent was discussing it with this morning! He's somewhat more proactive than me so has done something about it.

Count me in......

Ah but...

Your thoughts sound as though they are geared towards primal urges, whereas I actually love her very very much, to the point where I'd even buy her half a Lager and Lime and pretend to like going shopping.

So there!

You're wrong

I'd love to hold her coat in La Senza while she tried on something diaf, diaphe, dyaff, diaphor.......thin and clingy.

I would have said Ann Summers but Suze is far to classy for that.

Wolverhampton calling

I'd be up for it too.

Who's Susanna Reid? Am I missing something on the cultural continuum?

cradlerock | 30 September 2011 - 1:16pm

I'm on the southern side of the Midlands

so could be in reach.

And I'd crawl across volcanic broken glass for Susanna ......

I'm on the Eastern Fringe

of the Midlands, but might get a pass for a night out, so I'm for it. And to contine the theme, La Reid looked very foxy this morning, even wearing a backpack.

*waves from afar*

I spent a great chunk of the last 3 years in Birmingham but I've changed jobs now.

I hope you all have a fab time - I'll think of you all gathering in the Wellington!

el hombre malo | 30 September 2011 - 2:13pm

Now there's an idea!

We can bring our own balti takeaway.

I trust the new job still continues to thrive Tom?

el toro calvo grande | 30 September 2011 - 3:04pm

all going swimmingly, thanks

breakfast at Tim Horton's and a box of Timbits for the meeting

How's life in Brum ? I trust Asha's & The Wellington have survived without me going three times a week!

el hombre malo | 30 September 2011 - 4:50pm

Brum is fine

But sadly no Tim Hortons.....those look awesome.

Asha's and the Welly are both doing fine, despite the measurable drop in takings from your absence.

Tim Hortons

Is a fabulous Canadian institution - wonderful doughnuts that are better than Krispy Kreme. Boston Creme is a personal favourite.El Hombre can also heartily recommend their Chilli and a sandwich for lunch. Shame you can't get the Primevals to play Brum - sure you could get some support down here.

I'm in Coventry (Shhh!)

Count me in, please.

I can heartily recommend Mingling.

Hope you all have a lovely time... xxx

Hannah | 30 September 2011 - 3:03pm

Southern word birds

would of course be welcome, as is the mingling tradition further north.

0
el toro calvo grande | 30 September 2011 - 3:05pm

But of course!

Not right now, funds a bit stretched, but definitely definitely another time. I used to live in Brum y'know, I have a soft spot for the west midlands.

0
Hannah | 30 September 2011 - 5:20pm

Yep

I'd be up for it

Freddie Owen | 30 September 2011 - 4:34pm

it's on!

OK; this sounds fun. If interested parties PM me (I didn't know we have the function, but apparently we do) and add a day of the week that works for late October, and where they are based (I'll plan on trying to get into a 50 mile radius of most parties), i'll find and ask a suitable looking balti house for a booking, and we can take over the establshment for the night (or at least 7 till 10). Is there anythign else required apart from date, time, place, booking, swag table, gettign to know you 'icebreakers' and an ironed "Uriah Heep" (it IS the Midlands) t-shirt?

A word of advice

Yes - you can PM / DM people by clicking on their username, and the clicking the "Contact" tab on the page that follows. (Not everyone has "contact" enabled, so not everyone has the tab. But Vincent does).

Vincent - keep an eye on your spam folder. For some reason, when I (and others) receive DMs, they often wind up there and can go unnoticed.

The only thing you're missing is cake :-)

That 'Cake'

Dangerous drug you know................
(excuse the silliness)
