Metallica Meet Holland

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the first french lady is apparently taking time out from her diplomatic duties to appear alongside Metallica and Macca in the forthcoming series of Jools Holland. Will such contrasting artists work on the same bill I wonder? The answer is most likely yes as the diverse range of acts on each show is no doubt the show's strong selling point. Or does this annoy you?
If you were Jimmy Saville, who would you like to fix for an appearance on the new series.
One thing can at least be guaranteed, Jools Holland will interview artists with the following question: "Who did you listen to when you were growing up etc" and "I've been listening to your new album and it's marvellous etc"

Reckon Jools

should be taking note of Get Well Soon (August's Word CD) - best band on the monthly burnt offering since the last Beirut track.

Doubt they'll get an interview, though as they haven't been in the bizness for the regulation minimum 40 years ...

Jool's Will Fix It

Got to be Pete Molinari. Later always seems to go for a decent country / roots type act from the States but in Molinari they'll find some serious home gown talent (Chatham, Kent). I see that he's just got a Single Of The Week on Radcliffe & Maconie on Radio 2 and The Sun (I was reading it for the sport) has just done a big spread on him.

In the ticket queue - again

I've just applied for audience tickets for this upcoming series. I try most times I hear of a new series but have so far drawn a huge fat nowt. I would have thought a fair number of south-based Wordies may have done the same, and possibly have attended a few times before.

Wot's it like?

Has anyone else applied? In the unlikely event of me getting a ticket on the same night as anyone else here logged on (if at all) I'll happily get them in at a pub nearby.

I've applied...

..and I'm from Chatham meself, though now resident in West London, and would like to see Pete Molinari on there as well.
