Twang Jr awake at 3.00 positively levitating with excitement, making trips to us every 20 minutes to check the clock which indicates what time he can leave his room is correct. :-)

But pressies are being opened, paper everywhere, Tull on Radio IO 70s, happy times.

The usual slow start here. No presents opened as yet - teenagers still asleep. I'm not sure which is worse - the 3am starts such as Twang mentions or the never ending wait like we have here now.

A grey festive morning here in Lancaster. My in-laws have a houseful: them, us four, Mrs Bob's two sisters plus husbands and two small boys. It's madness, but joyful madness. Stockings have been opened, and I'm in charge of lunch. There's a turkey the size of a toddler, pigs in blankets, chipolatas, two stuffings (pear and celeriac and oyster and chestnut), I'm parboiling the roasties as we speak. I'm happier than a pig in muck.

We're currently having a quiet and happy day. We were very surprised at having to prod our six year old awake at 8:10am this morning. Once her eyes were open though she started jumping up and down. 'He's been! He's been!'

Indeed he has. We spoilt her somewhat but nothing out of the pile has been touched yet other than a Nintendo DS - which is currently white-hot. She hasn't made eye contact with me in three hours.

Mrs B has just nodded off. I am therefore a man alone with leftover sprouts, potatoes and stuffing, all of which is starting to make its presence felt. Can you fart yourself to death?

That's nearly it for another year, and it's been nice. Dinner went well, beef Wellington seeing as you ask, followed by Heston Service Christmas Puddings (I know, lazy git, but they are nice). Mrs P and the Aged P are now viewing Christmas Strictly, and I'm tidying up. Rock and Roll! Looking forward to the New Year. Have fun!
