Meet my new TV girlfriend

David Hepworth's picture

ImageBritish actress Eve Best plays Doctor Eleanor O'Hara in "Nurse Jackie". She speaks in a creamy, upper-class drawl, saves lives when she can (but is mainly interested in cutting people open to see what's inside them) and likes to lunch at expensive places before going handbag shopping. She sidles through the hospital in tight skirts and high heels and only says hello to people when she's wearing something new and wants them to notice.

I know it's all made-up but still.....

Does this mean...

...that you've forsaken Tina Fey and her out of Mad Men? Sooo fickle.

Lucas Hare | 12 January 2010 - 7:28am

It seems only fair...

...to spread my affection around.

0
David Hepworth | 12 January 2010 - 7:42am

My new TV girlfriend

is the ginger lass who plays the teacher in Glee.
I've heard she fancies me as well, so it's working out well.

Mr Drayton | 12 January 2010 - 8:07am

But, but...

she told me that I was the only one she was interested in!

0
ceepee | 12 January 2010 - 9:08am

same here,

she is so packed.
Tina from Corrie, I'm back baby.

clarker | 12 January 2010 - 10:27am

Your just reading this

on your i phone waiting for your Vogue Homme cover shoot I suppose?

0
Chris G | 12 January 2010 - 12:54pm

Indeed

0
clarker | 12 January 2010 - 1:16pm

Never got over her......

From the moment she announced that she wanted to be Steve Carrell's character's "fuck buddy" in the 40 Year Old Virgin!

From a staid electronics shop manageress it was a bit of jaw dropper

0
Six Dog | 12 January 2010 - 3:14pm

One of those times when

you're better advised to use the word television rather than the abbreviation TV, lest you be misunderstood...

Molesworth | 12 January 2010 - 9:18am

It's Above Suspicion's Kelly Reilly for me

Far too beautiful to be a policewoman.

0
Five-Centres | 12 January 2010 - 9:51am

At the very moment you posted

I was looking around for a suitable photo of Ms Reilly to go with my suggestion, then realised I couldn't upload one.

Top top quality.

She Is

something else

0
Pat Carty | 12 January 2010 - 12:08pm

I "heart" her...

...and met her briefly when she was co starring with David Tennant in Look Back In Anger in Edinburgh a good few years ago. When my gaping mouth was again capable of sensible comments I remember squeaking nothing memorable to her at all. It was not the start of a torrid, life changing love affair in any shape or form. (Sighs)

P.S. She's great in Eden Lake, a brilliant wee horror film

0
ganglesprocket | 12 January 2010 - 1:10pm

Stunning.

0
ChaosandMorphine | 12 January 2010 - 2:37pm

Doesn't she appear...

...as the young version of one of the characters in the movie of "Last Orders"? One of the few times I've felt like reaching for the expression "incandescently beautiful". In fact, here she is.

0
David Hepworth | 12 January 2010 - 2:40pm

Dead bunnies

the explanation of why she is a doctor but Jackie is a nurse is the funniest thing on tv for me so far this year.

0
paulwright | 12 January 2010 - 9:56am

Nurse Jackie

We are having a catch up evening on it tonight. It looks great. I love Sky+.

0
Leedsboy | 12 January 2010 - 9:58am

She is delightful

also so far as steered clear of a toe curling cultural gaffs see the episode of ER where loads of "English" lads suffered from cheese rolling injuries!

0
Chris G | 12 January 2010 - 9:59am

She is brilliant...

...but her face is too weird to be fancied.

0
pocket.calculator | 12 January 2010 - 10:34am

Suits me

You're one less I have to compete with.

0
David Hepworth | 12 January 2010 - 10:50am

Believe me...

...I'm no kind of competition.

0
pocket.calculator | 12 January 2010 - 10:55am

nurse jackie

is very good, but will one half episode a week work?

0
junkiecosmonaut | 12 January 2010 - 1:28pm

I saw her first, Hepworth!

Well, probably at the same time.

Did anyone else find the use of the C word in last night's episode really unnecessary and unpleasant, or am I just a delicate flower? A delicate flower in need of a posh English doctor...

0
Remote Control | 12 January 2010 - 2:45pm

Gentlemen.....I believe there is a queue.........

And you chaps are behind me. No cuts.

NB - I'm sure I've seen her in an English TV series but for the life of me can't place her.

Anyone else like the little touch of Father Phil (Eddie) finally getting his wicked way with Carmela (NJ)??

0
Six Dog | 12 January 2010 - 3:04pm

Father Phil

Yes, I've only watched the first episode so far but it made me smile greatly.

0
Lucas Hare | 12 January 2010 - 4:04pm

She's been in some clunkers

Prime Suspect, Inspector Lynley, Waking the Dead, Casualty, The Bill etc.

pocket.calculator | 12 January 2010 - 4:33pm

In American drama....

...it tends to be used by women.

0
David Hepworth | 12 January 2010 - 3:09pm

sorry

but it's Nurse Jackie herself that bothers my ballbearings..Edie Falco
has the eyes the eyes..but then again I heard she bats for the other team.. and so another Bingham dream endeth!

0
Bingham | 12 January 2010 - 2:27pm

Glynis Barber

is back on our screens. I'm reminded of coming over all unnecessary back in the 80s when Dempsey And Makepeace was on.

And in the cinema another 80s TV girlfriend is back in the shape of Joanne Whalley.

ah.

0
SimonL | 12 January 2010 - 2:59pm

I'm with David.

She is rather terribly, terribly sexy in a femme fatale Linda Fiorentino Last Seduction sort of way. But posh as well.

I bet she's filthy.

0
Lenny Law | 12 January 2010 - 9:01pm

You boys carry on

I'll be over there with Peri Gilpin all to myself

0
Beezer | 12 January 2010 - 9:08pm

I think she was spoken for ages ago round

here in the great "Ros or Daphne (no you can't have both) debate"

0
Chris G | 12 January 2010 - 9:25pm

She was

By me. She's mine I tell you.

Mwahahahahahaaaaaaa

0
Beezer | 12 January 2010 - 9:28pm

Difference is with Roz we *know* she's filthy....

....Eve keeps us guessing.

0
David Hepworth | 13 January 2010 - 4:46pm

Guessing?

Or hoping?

0
Lenny Law | 13 January 2010 - 9:52pm

Yes

And it saves soooo much time.
