McCartney Tickets

CharlieB's picture

What a wonderful idea by the credit card that businesses hate( not forgetting my favourite mag in accepting the advert) to give their customers an opportunity to purchase tickets for Macca in advance of all those with Mastercard and Visa.
All this from an artist who has set himself up as the curator of all things good while amassing a large personal fortune, even with an expensive divorce settlement to a want-to-be ice skater and dancer.
So I will wait in anticipation of 8 March when the 'plebs' of British society can participate in the online buying ritual.

No...

Do bother

Live, he is at the top of his game. Can I meta-post? (Is that a word?)

You don't have to go through

You don't have to go through AmEX. You can buy tickets through McCartney's Web site during the presale, with any credit card, can't you? (That's how I did it last year.) There's a presale code right on his site.

And his voice is most certainly not fucked. I saw him last summer in the states. Great, great show. Does he sound 25? Hell no. The voice is definitely a bit weathered. But he's still got it. He still gives 110% to the audience; just keeps going and going. I was exhausted by the end of the show and all I did was bop in my seat.

And some songs just sound better now. I love how he sings Blackbird now more than the original version.

Yep

the presale was open to all on Wednesday. Details were on Macca's website main page. With the inventive password PMFAN

UPDATE

I got my tickets from Ticketmaster for the Millennium Stadium. Only trouble is I now get emails from them asking me to upgrade my posting method because they can't guarantee delivery.

THE GIG

After the Manics finished their set the roof closed and the under capacity crowd waited. It was worth it, as after almost 3 hours the wife gave her critical approval.
With a slightly different songlist to Hampden Park, earlier in the week, and a 2 encore set. The latter sending those unsavvy concert goers for the exits before Macca returned.
My grandson and grandaughter attended their first big gig(T4 On The Beach does not account)having picked up tickets handed out free to Hospital workers. Great in principle if the gig is undersold, but they were in the front while our £70 seats were at the back of the Stadium!
He said he would be back. When he does it would be nice to name check the wonderful band of Rusty Anderson( he wrote 'Torn'), Brian Ray, Abe Laboriel Jnr and Wix Wickens.
He could have even mentioned that the Hyde Park gig the next day was being shown 'live' on YouTube - still at 68 years of age there are bound to be things I'll forget.
