The One Hit Wonders Spotify list as compiled by Wordistas is truly a thing of joy and beauty.

Added the above track and got lost in a wave of nostalgia - what a time it was, it was. Oh to be 21 again
Is there a one-off, a one-hit-wonder that brings a special time all flooding back for you?
Might be of help to those in non-Spotify places too

I was going to put this on the list..
Being that it's one of my favourite songs and all that.
Then I remembered The Second Summer Of Love. Bonk. No one-hit wonders were Danny Wilson..
True
- but "which two hit wonder ..." has less of a ring to it
I always feel embarrased and Ill when I hear that song.
It's up there with whatever horrible pish Deacon Blue produced.Ghastly.
Marys Prairie
I always had a soft spot for Marys Prairie which was Marys Prayer with Pedal Steel!
Being without Spotify
I didn't play the last game. However this is I think a OHW and just reminds me of driving a van for living, shit money but no pressure. I think Radio 1 played this every hour.
They had 7 Top 40 hits, and three Top Tens
Tricky game this, isn't it?
heck - never mind 21
wouldn't being 31 again - no diggety...
This lot - Blackstreet - probably had other hits too...no doubt
13 Top 40s, 5 top 10s
Think this demonstrates the power of media to shape memories.
Jilted John
reminds me of my first school disco this does. Surely a bona fide OHW?
Oooh.. so nearly..
The tune is called Jilted John. By Jilted John, of course. Gordon Is A Moron is just the coda..
Deee-Lite
I thought Deee-Lite were nailed on as one hit wonders, but apparently they cracked the British top 40 twice.
It would have been better if they hadn't - Groove is in the Heart would have been a brilliant OHW to have in the locker.
Still sounds fantastic, just played it on 12"
Right, this one's definitely a one-hit wonder...
Uptown Top Ranking by Althea and Donna. So much of a OHW that they didn't even do a b-side (the version I've got on Lightning Records has an instrumental cut of the a-side billed as 'Calico Suit' and credited to The Mighty Two on the b side).
UTR started out as...
... an Alton Ellis song from 1967 called "I'm Still In Love With You." It was re-recorded by Trinity in the mid 70s and renamed "Three Piece Suit." This re-recording was used as the backing track for A&D's "UTR." If memory serves (it's been 32 years!) "Calico Suit" is the Trinity version minus his vocals.
Another crucial one..
As Fraser says "overleaf" about Musical Youth...
I think it is reasonable to consider DeeeLite as a OHW, even though they might have had more than one "hit" because when you think of them, only one song springs to mind.
This lot were a trio on TOTP..
the singer Speedy Keen on drums, Thunderclap on piano, a teenage McCullough on guitar (later of Wings). The record features, apparently, Pete Townshend on bass.
Classic OHW and a great tune
This one takes me right back to an eighties dancefloor
Rockers Revenge
wasn't this written by Eddy Grant? I'm sure I've got it on one of those post-punk 'Disco Not Disco' comps that Strut Records did. EG also did the excellent 'Timewarp' instrumental (credited to Coach House Rhythm Section) around the same time on a similar tip...
Indeed
his was original.
It's pretty good too.

they may have had other hits
not sure, anyway this is the only one anyone remembers. Ow's about that then.
Did he have another hit?
Does this count?
This was our battle-hymn
as we sallied forth to play St.Custard's at rugger or some other muddied oaf/flanneled fool pursuit
