Worthy of investigation ? Where to start ?

As long as it's ...

Private Investigations, of course.

Sailing to Philadelphia

is the best of the bunch, although there's some good stuff on most of the solo albums.

I picked up

Kill To Get Crimson for £3 in my local Sainsburys clearout last weekend.

I'd not paid much attention to Mark's solo work, despite having been a fan of Dire Straits, at least for the first 3 or 4 albums.

I must say it was £3 well spent, and I'm rather chuffed with it.

Philadelphia def the best of the bunch

..closely followed by Golden Heart. I'd rate the rest of his post DS stuff in this order:

-Ragpickers' Dream
-Kill to get crimson
-Shangri-La
-the newest one
