Mark Ellen, coming to a radio near you...

Anyone close to a radio this afternoon is advised to tune in to BBC Radio 4's The Music Group at 1.30pm, and enjoy Alexei Sayle discussing Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera, the fantastic Sue Perkins on Jimi Hendrix (extremely entertaining) and THE WORD's Mark Ellen - almost inevitably - on The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

Clarification Please

Therer's been confusion lately at the BBC it is ME not DH who's appearing......

Just turned on

To be greeted by the words "Thanks, Mark. That's all we've got time for". Sorry...

Quiet talks & summer walks

One of my best friends used to live aboard a houseboat moored next to that of Viv Stanshall. He used to pop by for a chat, sometimes dressed in a loose-fitting dressing gown with nothing underneath. Lovely bloke, apparently.

Welcome Break

Had a pack lunch in the car today and thought I recognised a voice; the laughter then confirmed it was indeed Mr Ellen. A most welcome break from a day of constant calling. It's been ages since I've heard "Redhouse"; still sounds as fresh as a daisy. Must catch this show again.
