Not sure why they insist on dressing him as Malcolm X

I never want to hear from him again. #irritating

Actually

I think it sounds all right.

Stripped from the ramshackle experimental sound of the White Stripes, Jack White is a good pop song writer. He has form in this area as well with Joss Stone's cover of Fell In Love With A Girl (Boy).

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this twice. But it's a well-judged savvy cover version.

I've heard worse

Boy can sing and the arrangement's ok. I'll hear a lot worse just randomly tuning into the radio.

Dear, oh dear...

... I don't see it troubling the Northern Soul market. That is a truly awful version. Shite.

Heh I quite like it

In a sort of Gnarls Barkley lite way,

But what's with the brass arrangement, it's one step away from being a typical brass band. And the dodgy reggae breakdown, straight out of the late 70s rulebook.

*whispers* I'm not much a fan of the original so this isn't as offensive to me as it might be to others. I also prefer the Joss Stone Fell In Love to the original!
