Magazine tickets on sale already

If there are any fellow Magazine fans on this board, you might like to know that tickets are already on sale for the gigs next Feb. I'd heard that they were going to be available from Monday 15th but I've just nabbed 3 standing tickets for the London gig.
Still no word on who the guitarist will be although it has been suggested somewhere on the internet that it might be Pete Shelley. I can't see that myself, maybe Johnny Greenwood?

Have also heard that the Monochrome Set are due to get back together to celebrate Cherry Red's 30th birthday.

would be an excellent replacement guitarist.
I must have had my head on the sand but I was shocked when reading about Magazine getting back together to discover John McGeogh had died. I had no idea! Just checked on Wikipedia and it just says he died in his sleep...god that's sad news. He really was a wonderful and very underated guitarist.
I didn't know Monochrome Set had split up (again) - great band!

Sorry Paul - the trouble with this otherwise totally fabulous blog is that minor topics come and go so fast that its difficult to keep track of it all. Come tomorrow morning, this thread will be on page two and consigned to the dustbin of history as if it never existed.

no worries, Andy, I'm not really that precious, ahem! Actually, Mr Greenwood is a damn good call - I only suggested Pete as he and Howard are old punk rock war muckers, and Shot By Both Sides is the same chords (muso alert) as Lipstick by the Buzzcocks.

Strange Boutique was one of my favourite albums of 1980 but I haven't heard it since I sold all my vinyl which must be about 20 years ago now.
They did some great albums after their "comeback"
"Misere", "Charade" and a couple more - "Dante's Casino" probably the pick of the bunch.
