No Thyself

That's a terrible title.

Who's on guitar these days?

I imagine

it'll be Noko, who was with HD in Luxuria and then in the reformed Magazine last year. Can't wait!

He was fantastic.

It was like John was there. Every part was bang on. I have a good friend, a massive fan from the time who refused to go out of fear and previous dissapointment. He saw one track on Youtube and immeadiately booked tickets for the "Correct Use Of Soap" gig in Edinburgh six months later.

The last tour

was monumental.
However i found myself in a post punk dilemma, able only to attend the above or Wire, as i have to travel 180 miles etc.
I left the decision to the designated driver and he say Wire.
My younger brother lives in Glasgow and will be disowned if he chooses not to attend both.

Oooh That's a tough one

both bands are enjoying a late flourish.
Magazine put on a bit more of a 'show' than Wire, not least because Devoto is a superb and engaging front man. Wire are pretty darn good right now, touring a very strong album and appear to have started playing oldies like Outdoor Miner and Map Ref. You will not be disappointed whichever show you go to.

Tickets already available through

their official website rather than 9am tomorrow.

The band atm are

Howard Devoto – Vocals
Jon "stan" White – Bass guitar
Dave Formula – Keyboards
John Doyle – Drums
Noko – Guitar

shame Barry Adamson hasn't stuck around. Saw the "Soap" show at the RFH and it was immensely good. They really have still got it. Wonder what new stuff will sound like.

Awesome news

I doubt it'll be as good as Real Life, but if its as good as Magic Murder and the Weather, then I'll still be a happy bunny. Of sorts.

“Magazine, the connoisseur's choice"

I love that! It really tempts me to save up for the London gig. If I can *just* stop myself from drinking for a day or two...

No Barry, no ticket for me.

No Barry, no ticket for me. Adamson's bass playing is so integral to the sound that without it, it's just not Magazine for me. And there are now only two original members of the group left. Will snap up the album when it's released however.
