Just home from seeing Magazine at Royal Festival Hall - they were fantastic. Ahead of their time in the day and still sounding fresh and really tight. Whole band on top form - Howard doing is usual inter song esoteric banter and Barry's bass playing!!

Night made even more special by seeing Robert Wyatt. Almost literally bumped into him after the gig as I headed for a post gig beer. Lovely evening - shame it's work tomorrow (or now today).

Anyway, the purpose of my ramblings... Mr Ellen and Mr Hepworth - can we please have a Magazine retrospective / interview please.

Seconded

they was bloody brilliant!

I saw Pete Shelley and (i think, t'was cross a crowded room) Peter Saville. Heard a rumour Mr Wyatt was quite rightly watching from the royal box

And kind of Howard to give us vinyl care tips

Bridgewater Hall

Saw them at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on Saturday. They were indeed fantastic. I'd like them to record some new material. It would be a pity for them to become a heritage act. Having said that, their back catalogue is peerless. Still sounds like the future to me.

Saw them in Manchester

earlier in the year, and they were terrific. Then saw them at Latitude recently and they were poor, guess not a festival band?

It was outstanding

However it really took off after Howard told the audience they didn't need to sit down. The band seemed to go up a gear then as well.

I only saw Jeremy Vine :-(
