Thumbs aloft?
Love him to bits but, sadly, there's no novelty
in seeing him anymore, even in Liverpool, even doing the HJH tunes.
I might be interested if he got the old band back together and did Band On The Run OR an acoustic one-man show.
I got all excited
as usual.
But then I thought back to the Hard Rock show in June and remember being underwhelmed.
It just seems to be a checklist for each show and there are no surprises.
I'll save the money for someone a little more in need of it.
Like me.
thumbs aloft on the grounds
that they're small gigs. I'd say the Hammersmith Appollo, with none of your big screens and so on might be kinda cool, but as Jimmy says, there's a bit of a checklist vibe about his gigs.
Essential
He does some songs every night, but has introduced a few new songs this year. Anyway you are going to get an energetic 3 hr show with more than 30 classics, what's not to like? And you get to hear Wonderful Christmastime live!
Big thumbs aloft here
I've never seen him (nor the Beatles, being too young) and I figured this was my one chance to see him in a small room on home turf. Having never seen him before, I'm not fussed if he's trotting out the same old set.
And come the appointed hour, I just got a ticket, so I'm going to the Liverpool show.
Inevitably, looks like they sold out in seconds.
**Doing the Snoopy dance**
I got four tickets for London. I am extraordinarily happy. This time last year I was gutted at missing the O2 show, I can't believe I got tickets off Ticketmaster in the usual way.
Happy happy joy joy.
Wonderful Christmastime Live!!!!!!
Liverpool No Joy
Tried for Liverpool, but it seemed to flash from "not on-sale until 10am" to "buy now" to "no tickets found" in a matter of seconds! I kept trying, but no good. I suppose it being only a 1200 capacity venue, once you take away guestlist, VIP Price allocation (£411 for early entry and a t-shirt!!!), and the ticket-lottery allocation on his website, there were only ever going to be a thimble-full on-sale.
Gutted though!
