No, surely not.

Would he be under the Tory whip ? If so, then changed days indeed.
I mean, take this performance from 1981.
Why is the guitarist wearing an armband ?
And what is the song about anyway ?
(Allegedly...)

He would probably do it
Not that he necessarily supports the Tories or even the idea of the Lords, but he is very committed to his new job as chief exec of UK Music, so if he thought it would help promote their agenda he would do it.
I saw him last month at a fringe meeting during the Labour party conference about file-sharing where he shared a stage with the Arts Minister, Ben Bradshaw, and the editor of the New Statesman. A long way from TOTP indeed!
Here is a picture I took at the event.
It is just a shame there is no way to bring an expert in a particular field into government without enobling them. The more I see that happen, the more I start liking the American way of appointing a cabinet.
Fair points
Yet another reason to reform the House Of Lords, but 12 years of Labour hasn't done much apart from get rid of most of the hereditaries, and Conservatives will conserve, the little dears.
Meanwhile, Lord Sharkey of Creggan perhaps? That will sound pretty strange.
Black armband
It was worn by Damian O'Neill just after Bobby Sands died from his hunger strike. Maybe you knew that?
Feargal always has lots of say in support of UK music and musicians, has loads of energy and I think he is a sound pair of hands to lobby for the music industry and those within it.
If he becomes
Lord Undertone, do they have to promote Kevin to a Dukedom or something?
