Logan's Run/Jenny Agutter

bricameron's picture

I just caught about an hour of this while flicking channels and boy was I glad I stopped.I'd forgotten how sensuous and sexy Jenny Agutter was. It's not like she was ever a great beauty but there's just something about her that flies my flag.Phew!

Never a great beauty??

I dare not google for images at work for fear of inappropriateness, but she's one of my frames of reference for beauty.

AIOTM

anyone listen to As It Occurs To Me - Richard Herring's podcast?
The story that TV's Emma Kennedy told about a famous actress who was convinced that her dog was the reincarnation of Princess Diana (because it hated BMWs) - was that Ms Agutter?

YES BUT

Have you ever noticed how she runs? Not very sexy I've always thought.

YES BUT but...

...it was Logan's run, wasn't it? Hardly surprising if she was a bit awkward with it.

Otherwise, what everybody said.

Walkabout..

We went to see this at the pictures when I was at school. An organised trip; we were reading the book.

There was a BIG nudie scene in it. Tits. Muff. The lot. This was about 1981. We were all 14-15 or so. The screen was very nearly damaged beyond repair by a hail of fly-buttons.

Wikipedia says that Jenny was sixteen at the time of filming. Which was OK at the time but probably means that the film now counts as kiddie porn.

Rather worryingly, as you type Jenny Aggutter's name into Google, Walkabout is the first suggestion below it.

Tits. Muff. The lot.

That's what I love about The Word Massive. Terms that might be risqué in other places are properly understood here. Context is king.

Photobucket

I remember the excitement in school after it was shown on BBC1 - we also read the book at school - were the teachers trying to wind us poor boys up?

It lingers on years later - just picked a dvd of Logans Run up for £4.... There was also the revisit of the soundtrack by Jason Falkner et al a few years back
