All the recent talk of live albums got me thinking - has a live track ever made it to Number One in the Hit Parade?

Michael George

Has something of a track record - the Queen EP with Somebody to Love on it and his duet with John Elton on I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me both went to no 1.

Not sure they were number ones...

...but the two artists I always think of for live songs making them a name are Peter Frampton and Cheap Trick.

Bob Marley's Live At The Lyceum

and the accompanying No Woman No Cry single must have done alright surely?

they weren't number ones

but Coming Up by Paul McCartney and There Is A Light That Never Goes Out by Morrissey immediately come to mind as live tracks that did well in the singles chart.
