Live Stones

Seamus's picture

The Stones' Brussels Affair bootleg has been mentioned here a few times. Anyone wishing to hear what all the fuss is about can hear for themselves at Wolfgang's Vault where it is being streamed.
On the subject of Stones' bootlegs, Big O still has Liv'r Than You'll Ever Be available.

Dunno about bootlegs

but I bought and watched the Scorcese "Shine A Light" concert DVD and was singularly unimpressed. That's mainly because there seemed to be a fair bit less than half of the original instrumentation applied, as if half the band hadn't turned up and it was just drum, bass and rhythm guitar, it came off like a dodgy rehearsal with a light show attached. On that basis I think anything else live will have to grab me by accident rather than design.

Shine a Light

I feel your pain and I only rented 'Shine a Light'. It truly was a terrible film. The major problem for me was I'd been listening to Exile on Main Street and watching The Last Waltz. I thought it would be a perfect blend of the two.

The overall mix was pretty bad and I was amazed at how out of tune they managed to get the guitars.

I often hear comments from musicians that the lowest budget in a filming situation is the sound recording budget. I guess the only show where that isn't the case would be 'Live From Abbey Road'.
