Clearly Todd is Godd, but check the episode archive for past delights. (He's in an earlier one, too.)

It is so great

to see musicians playing just for the love of it. No product, no new CD , no movie.

I'm going to watch the whole thing now!

Two boys from Philly...Soul Brothers.
Another episode has Nick Lowe and Daryl Hall singing "Cruel To Be Kind".
Pure bliss!

Can anyone recommend where I

Can anyone recommend where I should start with the Todd Rundgren cannon? Have watched both Live From Daryl's he appears in and am very keen to hear more but not sure where to start as there's so much of it. Love The Last Ride, Can we Still Be Friends, I Saw The Light and Bang on the Drum. I'm not quite sure how I've managed to avoid him all these years but it quite exciting to know there's so much to catch up with.

There's a good double CD

best of TR that's called Go Ahead, Ignore Me. It covers his classic period (mainly the 70s) and cuts out a lot of the self-indulgent stuff that turned off a lot of people and prevented him from becoming a household name (he wanted it that way it seems).

If you can stand a little self-indulgence, get 'Something/Anything' and 'A Wizard A True Star'.

With Todd

there is so much going on over the whole canon that pretty much every record between 'The Ballad of Todd Rundgren' and 'The Hermit of Mink Hollow' has good stuff on it. The 'Todd' double album that 'The Last Ride' is taken from is as good a place to start as any. I wish I was just discovering him for the first time. Genius.

These are his best episodes. Hope they are still available I think I have worn them thin having viewed them so often.

This is

a fantastic series of close up performances. Catch the earlier Daryl/Todd episode which was live form Daryl's house. They have so many similarities and obviously have a massive respect for each other. Watch the whole episode and listen to the banter and comments by the other musicians and yes, the Nick Lowe one is a gem as well.
