Leeds Festival

yorkch's picture

Had a great few days at Leeds Festival last weekend although aged 40 i did feel a little like I was just hanging around at the back to drive most of the audience home afterwards. Question for everyone - is it me or has "wee throwing" made a comeback at Festivals? Seemed very popular this weekend

Ahhh... that takes me back...

how fondly I remember those golden days of yore, watching agape as the sky turned black (and yellow) with hurled bottles of piss.

The good ol' days, eh?!

Piss on your chips

On the subject of piss throwing at Leeds Festival (to be discouraged actively) I got hit by a bag of chips and a sandwich. No piss though. Did I not qualify?

There's a line in there somewhere...

festival virgin

As I am usually willing to think the best of people I assumed that people were throwing lager they didnt want - it was then pointed out to me that that theory was wrong on at least two levels.
Also managed to break my own "Holding my breath will weeing in a festival loo" record

I remember being hit by a bottle

of piss, or it could have been left over Fosters, at the Reading Festival a few years back, it was not very pleasant!

It was at the time that Reading experimented with two main stages set up right next to each other - good for a quick change over between acts but very bad for a restless audience.
I was there in the crowd in front of one stage waiting for The Stranglers and then in front of the other stage was the crowd waiting for Alice Cooper who would follow - bunch of punks, bunch of bored hairy bikers hmmmm, let's have a huge bottle fight, it was mayhew!
Don't think the idea of two stages survived much longer after that.
