Latitude - the Massive roll-call
Well la famille SPT has its tickets. Who else is coming - and what are you planning to see?
With two littlies in tow, I hesitate to predict but looking at the music line up (some helpful soul on the Latitude forum has done a provisional clashes chart - http://bugs.rdmsoft.com/latitude/ )
there's v few "must sees" for me - I'll certainly be in the Word tent for the Hawley/National doule header on the Friday and for Kristin Hersh and Charlotte Grizzly on the Sunday.
If anyone fancies a less crowded view of a very decent band I suspect the kids and I will be bopping along to Standard Fare by the Lake on Saturday afternoon - a band thats local to me who hve some very decent tunes. Come and join us.
The non-music parts of the bill will more than fill up the rest of the time I'm sure - getting quite excited now!

Bugger
If that chart is legit then Rodrigo y Gabriela are not on until the Sunday evening. I will most likely be away by then. I'd really like to see them.
it's not official
but it's a pretty well-informed guess I think. Pretty sure Sunday evning for R&G is nailed on.
Count me in
I'll be there *waves*
Well, I'm only there on the Saturday. I'm also currently pushing for a press pass too, but that's looking less likely by the day. As to what I see, as long as I can catch the whole of Belle and Sebastian's set, I can die happy
Me too
Just on the Saturday again, with wife and Extremely Small One. Decided a full weekend might be tricky with a baby, which is a shame as the Sunday in particular looks amazing.
May check out Standard Fare, though Paul Heaton is tempting at the same time... Really looking forward to Belle and Sebastian and James. Who are the Archie Bronson people? Should I know them?
The first Archie Bronson album...
... Derdang Derdang is brilliant. I have seen them twice and loved them. Good basic pumping (and odly sedentary) rock music. Spiritualized without God and drugs is perhaps a goodish description.
This tune is ace...

David & The Duke
That's David Ford on the Word Stage and Duke Special in the Theatre. I'll check out John Gaunt to see what the fuss is about, Paul Heaton for old times' sake and B&S of course.
Mostly though I'll be away from the main stages - the comedy, literature and film bills look stronger than the music.
Film
I haven't been to see a grown-up film in 4 years plus - definitely want to see Four Lions.
The comedy and literary stages look the best.
Music wise still holding out feeble hope for Cathal Coughlan and the Kabeedies for the kids...
Paging Freud...
Actually, I'd pay good money to take aim at, sorry, watch Gaunty at a festival......
I'm
going with the long-suffering missus (TM). We've already started the line-up horse-trading too: I want to see the National on Friday night, while she's leading a charge to see Flozza and the Machine instead - wish me luck.
Other must-sees for me include Black Mountain; John Grant; John Cooper Clarke; Midlake; Jeremy Hardy and the RSC. All clashes notwithstanding, natch. (Woe betide me if we miss James apparently...)
Sorry...
Didn't see this thread - Could the mods can delete the one I've just started?
Anyway, will be in the family camping bit with my 12 year old and her friend for the full weekend.
Looking forward to Hawley, The Coral, Laura M, B%S and more. Is the Word stage a tent or an outdoor thingy? Are the massive meeting up anywhere in particular?
If previous years are anything to go by
The Word "Stage" is a bloody big tent. I'll certainly be in attendance for B&S if nothing else!
Nothing else?
boo, hiss, etc. You didn't enjoy Thursday, then?
I did indeed enjoy last Thursday
Still laughing about a small tour being called a "tourette" actually. I'd imagine I'll go and see Mr Ford - my friends I'm going with certainly seem keen to.
Having just been on the Latitude site, it appears The Maccabees are on at the same time as David Ford, so... I'll definitely be going to see him.
mitchell museum
can I give the massive a gentle nudge in the direction of mitchell museum? Charmingly wonky pop from Glasgow, playing on Sunday afternoon I think.
