Latitude
Posted by paulwright on 7 July 2011 - 8:32pm.
Well it is chucking it down, but next weekend is Latitude and I am getting excited. And worried about the weather forcast.
Who else is going apart from the Word Crew?
And has anyone got the train back on the Sunday before? I have to be in London for work on Sunday night (dammit) while the family can continue enjoying the festival till Monday.

I will be there
Persuaded Mrs Beach to go along last year (our first ever overnight stop at a Festival) and enjoyed it so much we will be back next week with three other couples, most attending on the strenght of our recommendation. The GLW is now worrying about the weather.
Travelling by car from Derbyshire so no idea about public transport.
The Phantom Band will be there.
Do see them. They are ace.
I will also be there
You may see me skulking around the Word tent trying to pluck up the courage to say hello to the management.
last year
I did the same and they were jolly friendly and welcoming. And taller than I had expected. They seemed genuinely pleased to talk to readers, so pluck up that courage and jump in.
I will be there on Sunday
Looking forward to Anna Calvin, The Waterboys and Suede.
Moi aussi.
Should I be looking out for a gentleman in a faded Praying Mantis t-shirt?
Afraid not
I will be the one with a boisterous two year old daughter and a chilled out 10 month old son trying to teach them about The Big Music.
Luckily we are staying in a hotel five minutes from the site so the plan is to get them settled with a babysitter late afternoon and then return for Suede.
I'll be there
with the FPO and our eldest
Looking forward to seeing Jenny Lewis, who recorded one of my daughter's favourite songs
I'll be there....
... with the family. Our first festival apart apart from a couple of Monsters of Rock in the 80s which I attended as a teenaged metalhead(?), and a T in the Park. I think it's safe to say that this is a completely different animal.
I'm pretty nervous about the weather but these feelings are outwieghed by extreme excitement for the event.
I'll no doubt spend some time skulking like Paul in the Word tent but apart from that I'm really looking forward to My Morning Jacket, Lykki Li and Anna Calvi.
I'll be driving down from Edinburgh. Hell of a journey and a logistical nighmare as we're heading to Spain on Monday...but just look at that line-up.
I'll be there on the Sunday
I'll be the one who's cool, calm and collected until Suede come on stage, at which point I'll be overcome with emotion and scream lots.
If it arrives in time, I'll also be wearing a self-serving promotional t-shirt for one of the websites I write for, so I should be easy to spot.
I'll be there
First festival since Womad a few years back. Really looking forward to it.
Loved it last year
And will be back again this year. Family camping area is pretty civilised. Been buying all the gear today. Word tent Saturday looks top and cant wait to see CW Stoneking. Will take in Phantom Band based on above recommendation and Suede will be a great finale.
See you there
Went last year and thoroughly enjoyed it all. Looking forward to Jenny and Johnny, Lyle Lovett, Echo and the bunnymen, omd, suede, lloyd cole and anna calvi. The forecast is not great but a lot can happen in a week. Also the only forecast you can see is for Southwold which is 5 miles away on the coast. The forecast last year wasn't great but it turned out lovely.
La famille SPT
will be there too. My eldest has declared that it's going to be different from last year because she's" going to go out and see all the bands in the evening with daddy". We've got natty ear defenders all lined up and everything. Also will be checking out Jenny and Johnny but a Saturday afternoon of Adam Ant, They Might Be Giants and British Sea Power (clashes permitting) looks like being fun for all the family.
So
It's going to piss it down then...
